The Five Hundred is an all-new premium family sedan built on the Volvo S80 platform. Both front- and all-wheel-drive versions are available.
- Spacious cabin, huge trunk, smooth ride quality, available all-wheel drive, plenty of safety features.

Ford 500 SE - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By UMASS93 - March 21 - 4:26 pmThird Ford that I have owned - step up from the Taurus. Now Ford plans to name this the Taurus due to lack of name recognition for 2008. Best car to have if you have a family. Higher off the ground that most sedans and consistently rates as one of the safest vehicles in a front and side collison. Gas mileage is acceptable, I have over 80,000 miles on my 2005. Live in MD and work in PA - 75 miles one way - average 28 mpg highway - have to love cruise control.

Great Car, Great Value - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By angelC - February 26 - 8:03 amI wanted to treat this car with kid gloves. However driving in the DFW metroplex in rush hour traffic doesnt allow for such. Shes handled everything with grace, style, speed, and accurate performance. The additional driving height gives me a much better view of traffic in front of me even if its a tall vehicle such as an SUV or pickup. The steering wheel mounted controls were 2nd nature after just a couple of hours. Unlike some of the competitive vehicles I can easily see out the rear window for going in reverse. The A/C system cools down the car fast and keeps it cool. Corners great. Accelerates smoothly. Comfortable seats front and back. Conveniently located cup holders. Love everything.

A perfect fit - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Lorraine M. - February 24 - 4:23 pmThis was the ideal choice for me, a one car owner. It gives me the style and comfort I want along with large capacity trunk space and room for long items. It works well for me as a good handling and driving machine with a homeowners cargo hold. I enjoy driving my 500 and it has performed as well as I expected.

Love My Ford 500! - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By A. Staley - February 2 - 4:06 pmIve always driven Fords but this is the best one yet! I purchased my Ford 500 last summer and I love it. It has great style and comfort. It has lots of power and is fun to drive. I get a lot of compliments on it. I recommend it to anyone who wants lots of room and a great ride with style. Gets decent gas mileage 19 to 21 mpg in city and 27 to 29 on highway.

My 500 - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Clifton Beecher - January 3 - 7:20 amThis car is a great car with exceptional comfort and interior space. It has good pickup speed but a little lower than expected. It rates up there with a Cadillac and a Lincoln. It is sporty and classy with a huge trunk space as well. I would buy another in the future. Very happy owner!

500 - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Gary M. Joraanstad - December 17 - 8:53 pmWe have taken one short trip and one long trip in our Five Hundred and it is a very comfortable car to drive and sit in for long distances. Rides very nice and mileage was okay on the highway. I got 25.5 MPG driving at 73 miles per hour. We both like the high seats and the safety features on the car are outstanding. Since it is a large sedan, it isnt that nimble in a parking lot but not bad. On the road it is nimble and responds very fast to your touch. Ford needs to use a 3.5L engine with a 3.05 rear end. Mileage would increase and still have plenty of power. My engine is the 3.0L with a 3.49 rear end. When you step on the gas, the engine sounds like it strains a little.

ISSUES WITH FIVE HUNDRED - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By mdarnell - December 14 - 9:43 pmThis vehicle has been in the shop for the following to be replaced and Ford will not buy it back: amp-replaced 3 times, speaker-replaced 2 times, cd-replaced 3 times, bubbling dash-5 times. This vehicle still makes a roaring noise and every electrical noise comes through the speakers. When it is very hot or extremely cold as well as after it rains in when this noise comes up. It is so loud you have to turn the radio or ignition off. We have arbitrated and they refused to still take it back. It is going back in the shop Thursday AGAIN for them to tell us they dont know what else to do. Just want to warn those of you out there.
